A filename editor that puts the fun back into organizing the file system.

When 10, 50, 100 or even more files have to be renamed then using the OS-X Finder quickly becomes tedious at best.

This Filename Editor solves this problem in a unique way. Edit at leisure but quick and efficient. Using editing commands that work on multiple lines simultaneously. Insert tags read from the file itself. And once satisfied with the result, commit all changes at once. It is even possible to interrupt the session and continue at a later point in time.

Filename Editor solves the problem that batch-renaming utilities have: sometimes the batch processor relies on faulty or missing tag data, and there is no way of inspecting/correcting this data before committing the changes. Possibly losing valuable information in the process.

Still Filename Editor keeps the best feature of batch processors: copying data from the file contents (tags) into the filename quickly and efficiently for all filenames at once. However with Filename Editor it is possible to actually see and verify the changes before committing them.

To prevent unexpected results from occurring, there is a status column that informs about potential problems like duplicate naming or renaming a file to an existing one.

Give it a try, you will quickly discover that you cannot do without…
